RESERVE FORCES DAY 4 July 2010

Calling on present and former members of the Militia, CMF, Reserve forces, Cadre Staff & National Service ’51 to’59.

Our Parade will consist of: Light Horse Members, Mounted Police, Armoured vehicles from World War 11 and AGW
Personnel in genuine WWI uniform.

The parade will be led by:

 Navy, Army and Air Force serving and former Reservists, Bands, Banners, Standards and flags together with Reservists
from the UK, USA, Canada & New Zealand.

The Salute will be taken by a senior member of the Armed Forces from former and serving Reservists of the Navy, Army
& Air Force after having inspected and met some Association Members of the Parade.

A fly-over of Vintage Aircraft will occur during the parade.

If you served and are not a member of an  Association here’s your opportunity with 1000 present and former Reservists will be on parade.

Unit Association Re-unions will be held at the conclusion of the parade.

PARADE TIMINGS

The following timings are laid down and the description of the actions that are to be followed at those times.

0945H      Report to Assembly Area (Government Drive)

Parade Assembles, Form up in Formation Order of March i.e., Navy (nearest the Shrine) followed by Army, RAAF and NSAA (2 Divisions) (nearest Government House).

All personnel are then under the control of RSMs’ etc,     

1015H  Parade march from Assembly Area to Lower Forecourt and halt short of the steps. Fmn RSMs check Banner/Flag/Standard/President/2ic/ASM etc,

1030H  Parade RSM orders “Bugler, Take Post”, Parade is given,”Reserve Forces on Parade”. Bands commence playing and parade marches on.

1040H  Fly-over of Vintage/Military aircraft commences.

1040H  Parade is marched past VIPs/Eternal Flame      .

             Parade given, “Eyes Right”,

             After Eternal Flame,

             Parade is given “Eyes Front, Left Wheel”

             Banners leave Formation for position on steps under direction of Marker.      

Parade given “Left Wheel” and move to the position of Extremity Marker. “Halt” 

1045H      Parade “Will Advance, Left Turn”

             Fmn Comd/2ic/Presidents/2ic/ANFs move to a position in

             front of their respective Associations/Formation. Parade

             RSM Hands Over the Parade to Parade Comdr.

1050H-

1105H      VIP arrives/Inspection takes place Pde Comdr “orders

                        the appropriate Salute” (Fmn Comdr/2ic/RSM ONLY

             Inspection Party).

1110H-

1115H      Parade Host – Welcoming Speech.

1115H-

1120H      VIP Speech.

1120H-

1130H      Wreath Laying (Layers’ Names Wanted?)

                At Front of Shrine (SOUTH side),

                Bands move off, Armoured vehicles move off after the     

                           Bands.

                           VIPs and Spectators are Thanked and Parade Concludes.

                           VIPs move onto the Tea & Tiny cakes area.

REHEARSAL – 0900H 27 JUN 10
