CAMBRAI DAY COMMEMORATION DINNER 2010

The 2010 Cambrai dinner was held on Saturday 20 November 2010.

The guest speaker for this year was Brigadier Mark Holmes MVO.

Mark Holmes is the Commander Land Warfare development Centre Puckapunyal Victoria.

As always it was a fantastic evening & I believe everyone had a great time.

There were many familiar faces from previous dinners & you could see the joy on the faces of diggers
as old mates got together again for yet another year.

I was fortunate enough to be seated with a table of Armoured Veterans along with my mate & old 2 Cav comrade
Rod Westgarth. There was a great mixture of gents from various armoured units including our friends from World War 2.

The night progressed nicely as we moved between courses & a few drinks.

Toasts & speeches were well received along with the very popular raffle.

This year we were fortunate to have an extra special prize donated by Lindsay Christensen, a replica (half)
browning pistol is a special presentation frame. This donated prize helped us in collecting extra funds to pay
for the troop parcels that we as an association send to out armoured troops on deployment.

Apart from this special price there were 12 other fantastic prizes for our members.

We were fortunate enough to be able to stay in Tobruk barracks and after a comfortable sleep were up early
for a hot breakfast cooked up by Mrs. Branagan.

NOTE: prior to the dinner, at 3pm we attended a memorial at the Tank Museum for the WW2 armour gents and were
privileged to have several of them present to lay wreaths.
